Welcome to my portfolio and diary. This is where I hope to record my thoughts, goals, and creations as I navigate through these seasons of life.
When I first started this blog in 2019, I just finished my B.A. in Modern Languages and Linguistics from the University of Oxford. Back then, I was interested in international development, mental health, languages, philosophy, and literature. Since then, I have gained several work experiences: teaching languages, proofreading documents, translating articles, creating communication products, selling my paintings, and most saliently – researching.
My current research interests are migrant and refugee education, specifically in the context of Indonesian migrant workers abroad and displaced people residing in Indonesia. I am always asking myself, “Why do people move to another country? What do they do there? Do they return? If they do, how has living abroad changed them?” Since getting my master’s in Education Policy from Harvard University, I have been focusing on Indonesian migrant workers in Taiwan and those who have returned to Indonesia. By learning more about their individual lives, I seek to understand the bigger picture of migration, globalization, and capitalism – and how we can disrupt the cycle of limited opportunities for migrant workers.
